Current Projects

Eco House

Description: One project that we’ve been working on for a while is the Eco-House. Our idea is to renovate an old mobile home into an eco-friendly invention that people could visit to learn more about ways they could renovate their own home in environmentally friendly and sustainable ways. MYC also plans on taking it to various conferences and events. The committee in charge of Eco-House has done a lot of research in the past couple of years, and this project is slowly starting to pick up speed, so everybody is working hard to complete it!

Community Outreach

Description: The main goal of the Community Outreach team right now is greater outreach to the youth both in terms of greater interaction with middle schoolers and preparing them for high school and in putting on finals study sessions for high schoolers. We are also proud of the continuation of the Reverse Mentoring program, where teens teach senior citizens how to use technology such as the computer. All members of MYC also regularly volunteer at city events, such as Princess and Superheroes Night and the Daddy Daughter dance!

Youth Dialogues

Description: This project, supported by the University of Michigan, initiates discussion between students of different races working to the right view of diversity.
