MYC Talk Show
The Mayors Youth Council is able to produce teen-oriented
talk shows by working with the South Western Oakland Cable
Commission (SWOCC). All of our shows air on Channel 8 and we are
currently producing about one show per month. This is a great
opportunity for our members to get involved in the TV
interviewing and producing process by working with SWOCC
Studios.
A few of our most recent ideas for talk shows are:
- '08 Presidential Election (open forum, teen debate)
- Dale Carnegie Training (program overview and skills
discussion)
- Michigan Youth Symposium (description, report)
- Riley Skate Park (history and future planning)
- F2H School Reconstruction (School Round Tables and City
Council discussion)
- Youth Dialogues (program overview)
- Mayors Youth Council (overview, projects, events,
recruitment) 8. Farmington Hills
- Sustainability (job opportunities, "The World is Flat",
teens leaving MI, etc.)
- Thrive Concert (June 7th, build up awareness,
advertising, discussion)
- Farmington Hills Graduates Interview (advice to
highschoolers, stuff they should do, college prep)
