MYC Snowman Building Contest
Description: This event, held in Riley Park in Downtown
Farmington, was done in conjunction with the 13th Annual Chili
Cook-Off at Page's Bar and Spirits in Downtown Farmington. About
5 MYC members/helpers showed up to help out and we had about 25
attendees, resulting in about 12 or 15 snowmen. We also did
swingdancing (one of our newest programs!) under the pavilion in
the park. Most participants received prizes, and we all had a
good time.
NLC New Orleans
Description: This biannual conference is a chance for city
councils from around the U.S. meet with their legislators and
discuss current municipal issues. This past November, a few of
our members were able to attend the conference in New Orleans
with our city council. They were able to not only learn from the
city council and attend learning sessions, but also to visit
some of the local Katrina disaster zones and help out with the
work.
