All public school, private school, and home-schooled students in Farmington Hills or Farmington are invited to take part in a special Youth Career Day event with Farmington Hills Police Officers.  The Farmington Hills Police Department and Youth Assistance are offering kids ages 8 to 18 the chance to learn what goes on “behind the scenes” at the Police Department.

Youth Career Day will be held on Saturday, June 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Police Headquarters located at 31655 Eleven Mile Road.  The program will be a fun, hands-on learning experience that allows young people to find out what it’s really like to be part of the law enforcement profession.

Participants at Youth Career Day will:

  • Lift fingerprints with evidence technicians
  • Try out the MILO (Multiple Interactive Learning Objectives) training simulation system
  • Watch a K-9 police dog demonstration
  • Speak with police officers one-on-one

Participants must be students who live in Farmington Hills or Farmington.  Spots are limited, be sure to sign up by June 16.  To register, contact the Farmington Hills Police Department’s Crime Prevention Section at crimeprevention@fhgov.com or 248-871-2750.
