Farmington Hills operates under the Council-Manager form of
government, the most successful and fastest-growing form of
government in U.S. municipalities today. The
Mayor and six Council members
are elected by the community and concentrate on policy issues that
are responsive to citizens’ needs and wishes. The
City
Manager is appointed by Council to carry out policy and ensure
that the entire community is being served.
Citizens are welcome to attend City Council meetings and
encouraged to actively participate in our government by serving on
