Our
Government
Farmington Hills operates under the Council-Manager form of
government, the most successful and fastest-growing form of government
in U.S. municipalities today. The Mayor
and six Council members are elected by the community and concentrate
on policy issues that are responsive to citizens’ needs and wishes. The
City Manager
is appointed by Council to carry out policy and ensure that the entire
community is being served.
Citizens are welcome to attend City Council meetings and encouraged
to actively participate in our government by serving on one of our
boards or commissions. For more information about our local government
and how you can participate, make a selection above.
