2015 ELECTION DATES AND DEADLINES

TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2015 – STATE WIDE SPECIAL ELECTION

THE BALLOT WILL INCLUDE:

  • A STATE WIDE BALLOT PROPOSAL ASKING VOTERS TO ALLOW FOR A ONE-PERCENT INCREASE IN MICHIGAN’S SALES TAX.
  • A FARMINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT BOND PROPOSAL (Precincts 1-4 and 7-26 only)

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2015 – GENERAL CITY ELECTION (All Precincts 1-27)

THE BALLOT WILL INCLUDE:

  • THE OFFICE OF MAYOR - ONE TO BE ELECTED FOR A 2-YEAR TERM
  • THE OFFICE OF COUNCIL MEMBER- THREE TO BE ELECTED FOR 4-YEAR TERMS

Ballots for any Election may also include any approved state or local proposals.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE:

Monday, April 6, 2015 – Deadline to be eligible to vote in the May 5, 2015 Special Election

Monday, October 5, 2015 – Deadline to be eligible to vote in the November 3, 2015 General Election

FILING FOR OFFICE:

Nominating Petitions for the offices of Mayor and/or City Council are available at the Farmington Hills City Clerk’s Office located at 31555 W. Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm.

Filing Deadline: The deadline to file nominating petitions for the Office of Mayor or City Council is July 21, 2015 AT 4PM SHARP! Nominating petitions should be filed with the Farmington Hills City Clerk.
