Big News!!
Art on The Grand is Even Grander in 2010!
New Dates! New Placement!
Saturday, June 5, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday, June 6, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM
We are excited to announce that 2010 Art on the Grand will be
its own stand-alone event located right on the main street –
Grand River –in the middle of town!
This year, patrons will see some big changes in Art on the
Grand, the fine arts fair located in downtown Farmington. Due to
its immense popularity, Art on the Grand, previously the fine
arts section of the Founders Festival, has become a stand-alone
event, with new dates for 2010 – June 5 and 6.
In addition, the fair will be located right on Grand River
Avenue, from Farmington Road to Grove Street. This allows the
festival to double the number of artists and offer an even more
exciting variety of fine-quality work by artists from across the
country. Hours for Art on the Grand are 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on
Saturday, June 5 and 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 6.
Along with booths filled with paintings, sculpture,
photography, jewelry, pottery, fiber and more, there will be
entertainment and family fun for all ages. Music will fill the
air as visitors enjoy wonderful live concerts by a variety of
bands during the two-day festival (see schedule below), along
with a large children’s area with hands-on projects, face
painting and entertainment. Along the streets, vistors will find
strolling performers, an intriguing live statue, and food
booths.
The festival opens with a Friday night “pre-glow” party in
the downtown pavilion as the “Grapes on the Grand” wine/beer
tent, presented by Bud Light, officially opens to the public
from 5:00 pm - 8:00 PM. Live blues, jazz, swing, big band and
Motown groups will perform throughout the weekend. “Grapes on
the Grand” will be open until 11:00 PM on Sunday.
Admission is free. For more information, call the Cultural
Arts Division at 248-473-1848.
