The Next Stage
 In
2006, the City of Farmington Hills began a relationship with a
group of talented professional musicians, technicians and music
managers to form The Next Stage. This innovative program allows
students ages to 10-19 learn performance secrets from the pros,
including hands-on, individual coaching in tone, breath control,
range, music styles, microphone techniques, makeup, costuming,
stage movements and more. For aspiring, “American Idol”
contestants, beginners and those seeking to gain more experience
performing on a live soundstage. (Ashley Franso, Farmington Idol
2008, was one of The Next Stage’s first students.)
Fall, spring and summer sessions are available through the
Cultural Arts Division, and take place at the Farmington Players
