The following road construction projects are currently
underway or are scheduled in 2009/2010:
Nine Mile Road from Gill Road to east of Farmington Rd
Throughout fall 2009, the Cities of Farmington Hills and
Farmington will be repairing the concrete road surface. The
section east of Farmington Road will be completed first,
followed by work on the section between Gill and Farmington
Road. Access will be maintained to all properties and all
traffic will be required to travel eastbound only. Westbound
traffic will follow a detour route using Freedom Road.
Halsted Road from Twelve Mile Road to Fourteen Mile Road
In early October 2009, the City will begin a concrete
repair project along this section. Access to all abutting
properties will be maintained. Traffic on this two-mile
section of Halsted Road will be limited to southbound only.
Northbound traffic will be detoured to Drake Road.
Orchard Lake Road from Eight Mile Road to Grand River
Avenue Throughout fall 2009, the Road Commission will be
resurfacing this section of roadway. The road will remain
open to traffic but delays can be expected.
Middlebelt Road from Eight Mile Road to Eleven Mile Road
Beginning in spring 2010, the Road Commission will repair
and resurface this three-mile section of road. The road will
remain open to traffic but delays can be expected.
Inkster Road from Nine Mile Road to Eleven Mile Road
Beginning in spring 2010, the City of Southfield will be
closing this two-mile section of road for a reconstruction
project.
All project dates are tentative pending weather conditions
and contractor schedules.
