Permit Process –
Zoning Compliance Permits and Signs
Zoning reviews site plans for sheds and buildings 200 square
feet and under. As a courtesy to the subdivision associations that
comprise our City, applicants involving the construction of
buildings or fences should contact their subdivision association
to determine whether their proposed structure complies with the
subdivision’s restrictions. (This is also true for the
construction of homes, home additions and accessory buildings over
200 square feet, which are reviewed by the Planning Office.)
Although these restrictions are enforceable only by the
subdivision association, conflict can be minimized by this
cooperation.
Zoning also reviews temporary sign permit applications.
Application is made at the Zoning Division or you can
download a copy of the temporary sign permit application. The
Zoning Division can be reached at (248) 871-2520. Permanent signs
should be addressed to the Planning Office at (248) 871-2540.
