The City of Farmington Hills provides a water shutoff service
to residents who are on vacation or away for an extended period.
For a $90 fee, your water service can be shut off at the stopbox
(the valve the City has installed to access water service) and
then turned back on upon request. This will save you money and
prevent costly repairs:
- If your water service is off for at least three
months, the normal quarterly minimum charge will be waived.
- Turning off water service will help prevent
freezing of your internal plumbing and meter, which could
cause significant water damage to your home.
To schedule an appointment to shut off your water, call the
Oakland County Water Resources Commissionerís Office at (248)
