Volunteer Recognition Awards

The annual Volunteer Recognition program sponsored by the Farmington Area Commission on Aging and the City of Farmington Hills Senior Division is seeking nominees for volunteer service awards.

The Gold Award is presented to an individual 50 years or better who is a current active volunteer providing service in Farmington and/or Farmington Hills. The Margaret Loridas Diamond Award is the same except that it is presented to an individual 75 years or better. These two awards provide the Commission on Aging the opportunity to recognize and honor the outstanding volunteerism found in our community. The annual reception held in the spring is always a special event attended by more than 250 volunteers and honored guests.

Citizens are encouraged to submit nominations to be considered for these prestigious awards. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 20, 2013. Nomination forms can be found at www.farmlib.org/COA, received by mail by calling (248) 473-1830, or picked up at the Costick Center located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.

For more information about the Margaret Loridas Diamond or Gold Award or about the Commission on Aging, call (248) 473-1830.
