ART on the GRAND will be back the first weekend in June of 2022!

ART on the GRAND is back to celebrate its 13th anniversary as a stand-alone street art fair! This fine arts and craft fair has a special place in the hearts of Michigan art lovers because it is art-focused, a desirable size, and takes a hands-on approach. The art fair is vigorously supported by the community and typically sees over 40,000 visitors.

ART on the GRAND takes place on June 4 and 5 along Grand River Avenue in historic downtown Farmington, between Farmington Road and Grove Street. The festival features free admission and an array of high-quality art in a variety of price ranges and disciplines including ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography, wood, wearable art, glass, leather and sculpture.

A sample of each artist’s work is available at www.artonthegrand.com. This is a great way to access the art before and after the show, bringing more visibility to the featured artists from across the country.

KIDS ART ALLEY features young local artists in grades 6 through 12 who are on hand to talk about and sell their own creations. KIDS ART ALLEY is located within the art fair next to Sunflour Bakehaus and KickstART Gallery & Shop.

COVID-19 caused the cancellation of ART on the GRAND 2020. The successful 2021 event followed the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services rules for outdoor gatherings with modifications including a 25% reduction in artist booths to allow for social distancing. Additionally, some artists and patrons continued to wear face masks while in crowded spaces outdoors and practiced social distancing.

Hours for ART on the GRAND are Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you arrive early on Saturday, you can also visit the weekly Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Riley Park.

While you’re in town, visit one of the local restaurants. Farmington boasts a wide variety to suit every taste, with many offering outdoor patio dining. Be sure to plan time for sidewalk shopping at local stores during Art on the GRAND event hours.
ART on the GRAND 2021 was sponsored by Anthology of Farmington Hills, Tom Holzer Ford, and Renewal by Andersen, with support from Fresh Thyme and Starbucks. The event is presented by the Farmington Hills Special Services Department’s Cultural Arts Division in partnership with the Farmington Downtown Development Authority.
