FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (April 1, 2024) — The City of Farmington Hills is proud to announce a new Underground Railroad exhibit at City Hall. The exhibit features panels that highlight the history of the Underground Railroad in Oakland County, including stories of abolitionists and freedom seekers, as well as compelling photographs to enhance their narratives. Part of the Underground Railroad in Oakland County public history project, the panels will be on display at Farmington Hills City Hall, located at 31555 W. Eleven Mile Road, for the month of April.

"We are honored to be a host site for this amazing historical Underground Railroad display for community members and have the opportunity for us all to reflect on this important part of our past,” said City Manager Gary Mekjian. “Our City prides itself on being a community where everyone is welcome, so it is imperative that we remember and celebrate the courageous individuals who fought against slavery, laying the foundation for a welcoming community."
