COMMUNITY STORMWATER MAPPING BEGINS OCT. 5

The City of Farmington Hills Department of Public Services will begin important stormwater mapping work on Monday, October 5, 2026. OHM Advisors, the City’s engineering and planning firm, will locate and map places where storm sewers release water into nearby drains, creeks, rivers, and streams. During this work, OHM staff will walk along drainage areas and may need brief access to certain backyards to collect accurate information. Residents with storm sewer structures in their backyards will receive a door hanger 24 to 48 hours before staff arrive. For everyone’s safety, workers will wear high‑visibility clothing and carry official identification.

Completing this mapping helps our community comply with state stormwater regulations and allows us to maintain a comprehensive map of the City’s storm sewer infrastructure. The information gathered will support a cleaner and safer environment for residents.

The work will take approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

If you have questions, please contact the City of Farmington Hills Department of Public Services at 248‑871‑2530, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
