What is CRAFTED IN KINDNESS?
We’re challenging everyone to help us provide handmade hats and mittens to people that may need help staying warm for the upcoming cold season. Whether you crochet, knit, sew, felt, or use another technique—all handmade hats and mittens (or gloves) are accepted and will be donated to individuals in need. We know that making as a way to help others is gift enough, but we will also award various prizes throughout the challenge, simply for donating!
· Don’t know how to make hats and mittens? That’s ok! Join us in The Hawk Makerspace on November 29. Choose from various session times to learn how to sew a cozy fleece set. Register to attend HERE.
· Do I have to take a workshop with you to participate in the challenge? Absolutely not! If you want to make sets from the comfort of your own home, we’re more than happy to accept your handmade donations.
· Can I donate more than one set? You don’t have to, but we welcome all the handmade donations you wish to make.
· What are the dates of the challenge? Donations are accepted between November 29 and December 20 in The Hawk Makerspace.
· Where are you donating the hat and mitten sets? Sets will be donated to Farmington Hills Department of Special Services, Senior Division. The Senior Division has over 500 local seniors receiving support through their annual Adopt-a-Senior Program. Hats and Mittens will be added to their deliveries.
