City of Farmington Hills Statement on City Manager Transition

 

The following is a statement from City of Farmington Hills Director of Communication and Community Engagement Vickie Sullen-Winn:

 

Following actions taken in the City of Farmington Hills during last night’s Special Council Meeting, including Council’s acceptance of City Manager Gary Mekjian’s resignation, the City is moving forward with next steps in line with established procedures. The formal separation agreement will be considered at an upcoming City Council meeting, and meeting details will be posted in advance to keep the community informed.

 

During this transition, Assistant City Manager Karen Mondora will serve as acting city manager to ensure continuity. City administration and staff remain committed to carrying out their responsibilities with professionalism, maintaining consistent operations and services for residents.

 

The City remains focused on supporting the community and delivering reliable, high‑quality public services.
