Celebrate the Season with the City of Farmington Hills at “Kickoff 2 Summer” June 12

WHAT:          Get ready for the summer season with the City of Farmington Hills at Kickoff 2 Summer, a free annual community event that celebrates the start of summer recreation with immersive activities for the whole family, including:

·         Free swimming in The Hawk’s state-of-the-art aquatics center,

·         Prizes and giveaways from the City of Farmington Hills and community partners,

·         Basketball, football and other contests,

·         Crafts and live performances,

·         Interactive fitness demonstrations,

·         Bouncers and more.

During Kickoff 2 Summer, City officials will hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of The Hawk Nature Trail and Outdoor Classroom. This new amenity will allow visitors and program participants to play, explore and learn as they trek the six-acre nature area on the campus of The Hawk.

 

The City will also launch its 2025 Free Summer Concert Series during Kickoff 2 Summer. The popular Jai Ho Indian Music and Dance Celebration will be on The Hawk Theatre Mainstage.

 

When Kickoff 2 Summer ends, families can stay for a movie under the stars. The Park It movie night on the football field at The Hawk will feature a free screening of Moana 2.

 

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Kickoff 2 Summer is sponsored by T-Mobile Fiber.

 

WHO:            The City of Farmington Hills Special Services Department, a leader in summer recreation for participants of all ages, interests and abilities, invites community members to celebrate the start of the new season at Kickoff 2 Summer.

                   Kickoff 2 Summer: 5-8 p.m.

The Hawk Nature Trail and Outdoor Classroom Ribbon Cutting: 5:30 p.m.

                   Jai Ho Indian Music and Dance Celebration: 5:30 p.m.

                   Park It movie night: 8:15 p.m.
