Farmington Hills Police Department to Host Community-wide Neighborhood Watch Meeting May 21
Community members will have an opportunity to meet with members of the
Police Department to share concerns and learn valuable crime prevention tips
In an effort to foster stronger community engagement and promote safety initiatives, the Farmington Hills Police Department is hosting a community-wide Neighborhood Watch Meeting on Wednesday, May 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Farmington Hills City Hall, located at 31555 W. Eleven Mile Road.
“Public safety is a shared effort, and the success of the Farmington Hills Police Department depends on having strong relationships with the people we serve,” said Farmington Hills Police Chief John Piggott. “The Neighborhood Watch Meeting is a chance for community members to connect with our officers and learn how they can play an active role in keeping Farmington Hills a safe, welcoming place for all.”
The meeting will provide residents with important updates from the Police Department to enhance transparency and offer valuable crime prevention tips to safeguard the community. It also serves as a venue for community members to collaborate with law enforcement and each other to create a safer, more engaged community. Light refreshments will be served.
The meeting will cover a variety of topics, including:
- General department updates: Information on recent law enforcement activities, upcoming initiatives and other information affecting the community.
- Crime and transparency: Takeaways from recent crime data, supporting the Department’s commitment to ensuring residents are well-informed about safety concerns in the community and departmental operations.
- Crime search mapping and statistics: Information about how the Department tracks and maps criminal activity to gain insightful statistics and inform patrols.
- Crime prevention tips: Practical tips and proactive strategies for crime prevention, including home security measures, neighborhood watch best practices and how to report suspicious activity effectively.
