City of Farmington Hills to Celebrate 25 Years of Cultural Arts at Farmington Area Art Awards on Oct. 4
WHAT: The City of Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division and the Farmington Area Arts Commission (FAAC) are proud to host the Farmington Area Arts Awards on Saturday, Oct. 4. The awards honor contributions of local artists, arts organizations, businesses and volunteers that encourage creativity in the community. The free event will also serve as a celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the City’s Cultural Arts Division.
The event is also a public introduction for the 2025/2026 artist-in-residence, Sean Deason, an electronic music composer, who will work with the City’s Cultural Arts Division over the next year to showcase his work. Other awards will recognize distinguished service to the arts, youth art, arts advocacy and an arts volunteer of the year.
The City of Farmington Hills has the largest dedicated municipal Cultural Arts Division in Michigan, which coordinates year-round programming for community members of all ages, abilities, interests, and backgrounds in visual and performing arts. The Cultural Arts Division also includes The Hawk Theatre and The Hawk Makerspace, an immersive creative and technical shared studio. The FAAC works with the Cultural Arts Division to support efforts to ensure that arts and cultural heritage are integral components of daily life in Farmington Hills and Farmington.
