Farmington Hills Voters to Receive Updated Voter Info Card from City Clerk’s Office by Early March 2026
The City of Farmington Hills is notifying all registered voters that they will receive a new voter information card in the mail in early March, as required by the State of Michigan. This is due to the recent State Senate redistricting, which places Farmington Hills in a single Senate district starting with the Aug. 4, 2026, state primary election. In coordination with this change, the City is consolidating voter precincts.
“Providing updated voter information cards is an important step in ensuring every voter has clear, accurate information before Election Day,” said Farmington Hills City Clerk Carly Lindahl. “While most voters will continue casting their ballot at the same location, the City encourages voters to review their new card as soon as it arrives in the mail.”
Most voters will continue voting at the same polling location where they have in the past but may notice a new precinct number. The one exception is voters previously assigned to Woodcreek Elementary School (Precinct 12), who will now cast ballots at a new, permanent polling location: the Costick Activities Center, located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road. After the new card is received, no action is needed from the voter.
These changes are made possible as early voting turnout continues to increase and more voters receive no-reason absent voter ballots. The number of precincts will be reduced from 27 to 23. Consolidating precincts will lead to significant cost savings for the City, as well as increased efficiency throughout election cycles.
In addition to in-person voting on election day, all Farmington Hills voters are eligible for early voting at the Costick Activities Center for nine days prior to each election. Voters may also request an absent voter ballot or sign up for the permanent absent voter list.
