Ready to Rock?! Award-winning Music Fest for Kids, “Rock Around The Hawk,” Returns to The Hawk for Fourth Season
The free monthly program exposes tiny concertgoers, 18-months to 5-years-old, and their caregivers to music and art while celebrating iconic musical experiences
WHAT: Rock Around The Hawk, an award-winning free monthly drop-in program for little ones ages 18-months to 5-years-old and their caregivers, returns to The Hawk in Farmington Hills for its fourth season beginning Friday, Sept. 5. The unique program exposes tiny concertgoers to music and art through age-appropriate activities with themes that are fun for kids and adults alike.
One Friday morning each month through June 2026, The Hawk Black Box Theatre will transform into a magical, musical experience that lightheartedly pays homage to legendary music festivals and cultural institutions through themed crafts, music, performances and dancing. Themes for 2025/2026 include: Lollipopalooza on Sept. 5, a tribute to a famous Chicago music festival that celebrates the biggest names across genres, and Quietfest on Oct. 4, which will feature DIY punk rock crafts, a temporary tattoo parlor and more. A full list of dates and themes can be found here in the City’s 2025 Fall Activities Guide.
Rock Around The Hawk, which was selected as an Innovative Recreation Programming Award winner by the Michigan Recreation & Parks Association in 2024, is a program of the City’s Special Services Department Cultural Arts Division. The City of Farmington Hills has the largest dedicated municipal Cultural Arts Division in the State of Michigan. The Division coordinates arts programming for the community, including classes, events, and activities in visual and performing arts, and year-round performances at The Hawk Theatre, to expose people of all ages, interests and abilities to the arts. Rock Around The Hawk is made possible in part by a grant from the Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families.
WHO: Rock Around The Hawk is an award-winning program designed for preschool-aged children, 18-months to 5-years-old, and their caregivers.
