Folsom Road Reconstruction Launches May 4, Bringing Safety and Traffic Flow Upgrades

The City of Farmington Hills Department of Public Services will begin reconstruction of Folsom Road between Nine Mile and Orchard Lake Roads on Monday, May 4. The project is expected to be completed in October. During construction, westbound Folsom Road will be closed, and local access will be maintained.

 

1.   What to Expect Starting May 4 (weather permitting):

·         Westbound Folsom Road will close at Orchard Lake Road for reconstruction of the south side of the roadway.

·         Power Road and Parker Street will close to commuters at Folsom Road.

·         Residents on Power Road and Parker Street will be able to access their neighborhoods from Eight Mile Road.

 

 

2.   Next Phase

·         Once work on the south side is complete, construction will shift to the north side of Folsom Road.

·         The westbound closure will remain in place.

·         Local traffic will be able to access the area eastbound from Nine Mile Road.

·         Residents on Power Road and Parker Street will be able to reach their neighborhoods using eastbound Folsom Road.

 

 

 

3.   Detour

·         A posted detour will direct westbound drivers to Freedom Road at Orchard Lake Road.
